A friend is driving an Acura RL loaner today as his oil leak is tended to. He was excited to show me and so at noon I had the chance to drive it. In a word - humdrum. The interior is uninspired and lacks refinement. There is nothing particularly wrong with the car; it is functional but flat. I might as well have been riding in an Accord. The car might have an identity crisis as the ride didn't feel particularly sporty or luxurious.

Makes me appreciate all the more what BMW does.
