You quoted the slowest tested trap speed for the GT-R. Thats why ignored that post. Every other test has the GT-R's trap speed much higher than that. The same mag you referred to, tested the GT-R a month earlier and got 4+mph on the trap speed. Also like you said that GT-R they had was thrashed by every mag.
How many 120+ trap speeds has the GT-R produced? Why does this dyno test hold any more weight than the 1/4 mile test I spoke of? Trap speeds and dyno numbers can vary a great deal, so I wouldn't put to much weight on a single dyno test. I do believe the car to be underrated, but a difference of 4-5 mph trap speeds is not all that unheard of. Just for an example, the M6 has produced anywhere from 115mph trap speeds up to 121+. In terms of straight-line speed, the likes of the turbo and Z06 will pull and pull quite hard on the GT-R. But who are we kidding, the majority of these cars will be modded regardless of the current restrictions in place.

Even if this particular GT-R is down in power, the fact that it can produce similar lap times in comparison to cars that are much lighter and have much greater straight-line speed is a testament to it's handling prowess.

I am actually not a very big fan of the GT-R, but I can appreciate the car for what it does. You literally get supercar performance for under 100K. In the other thread, you mention porsche coming up with an answer to the GT-R with the next iteration of the turbo, but underrated or not, the GT-R is already performing close to GT2 levels and surpassing the GT3 in many tests.

This is not the first dyno test, just the first on a US GT-R. Majority of the GT-R trap speeds are 117 and above(including some 120+mph trap speeds).

Anyways I don't want to argue, in fact I don't understand what there really is to argue.

So be it.

I agree with you, under-rated as it may be it's astonishing what you get for the amount of cash. The V-Spec will probably reclaim top position over the ZR1 (car which in truth really compares to the V-spec not the base GT-R).

Nissan did it in the 90s with the 33s' and 34s' and now again in 08 with the GTR. Can't wait for the V-spec to debut, it's going to blow the ZR1 out of the water at Nurburgring.
