If im not mistaken, the 997 turbo triptronic 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are faster than carerra gt by .2 of a second or so

Yep your right, 997 turbo is a tenth or two faster 0-60 than the carrera gt.
Porsche states:
Carrera GT: 3.9
997 Turbo: 3.7
But both cars are faster than those numbers.
The new GT2 is going to simply haul ass.

Yep, the manual does feel faster but in reality the trip is. Dont know why because its not even a true SMG or anything. And yea isnt that sad that the carrera gt is slower than the turbo at 1/4 the price tag? I never understood that

CGT is a pure exotic, a pure blood supercar. With it you can set very very fast lap times, faster than you can with the turbo. Second that car is pure harcore, it weighs well nothing and has tires almost slick, and all the car is tight and hardcore.For instance how many cars have the suspension the CGT has, horizontally mounted, and the engine is not a shabby turbo 3.6 liter boxer which isn't that astonishing, it's a race prepared V10 which hawols till you piss blood at almost 10000 rpm. Also if the tires are right and the conditions not too bad you can use it in winter also. The turbo is faster in steptronic version than it is in manual because of two main reasons: 1. THe most important the turbo with steptronic allows to keep the turbos spooled up at gear changes, and the loss of turbo pressure is minimal. That's another reason BMW engineers opted for steptronic for 535d. TT cars with automatics work best. 2. The times for gearchange are faster in the steptronic than any pro driver in manual. That's a cause of the minimal turbo pressure lost.

Never said it wouldn't lap faster than the turbo 997, we just stated it has a faster 0-60.
Think we just thought it was a little weird, seeing that the Carrera GT is about 500 less lbs and has 4 more cylinders.
Carrera GT is amazing and is no doubt one of my favorite cars.
