Fastest street legal 911 ever made.

The new GT2 is going to produce 530HP at 6,500 rpm and 505 lb-ft. of torque at 2,200 - 4,500 rpm. The car will have a six-speed manual and will be capable of reaching 0-60mph in 3.6 seconds, and a top speed of 204 mph.

Absolutely amazing.

Nice find!! GT2 is just going to be a monster. 530 HP from 3.6 liters, and just over 3100lbs

Really amazing! Strange that they used the 3.6L, not the 3.8L as the base.

I'm guessing that Porsche's 3.6 sec 0-60 estimate is woefully conservative as Car and Driver tested a 911 GT3 at 3.8 sec (3240 lbs, 415hp/300tq and no AWD).

Yep, I agree the stated 0-60 time is very conservative. With the car only weighing in at 3,175 lbs and 530 hp, the 0-60 should be much better. Most likely it will be more like 3.2 sec.

IMO they are still getting that much HP out of the 3.6 so they continue to use that platform because they have so little room to grow at this point. The maximum engine they can fit into the 911 design without altering it to a mid engine is 4.0 liters. My guess is the next generation will get a slight bump across the board with direct injection and maybe by the 999 they will fit it with 4.0 and 3.8 engines. Technolog will obviously continue to improve but at some point the will reach the end of the line with the laws of physics. Of course we have been saying that for years with the 911 and the engineers always come up with something new to keep it in the perforance game.

. . . going to be a monster? The previous generation GT2 (I think it's about 6 years old now) can still out perform a Ferrari F430. It doesn't surprise me that the GT2 is just short of the Carrera GT but with a much more favorable price (still lots of money though).

Porsche is simply amazing. . .

Current 997 turbo smokes Carrera GT so imagine what GT2 will do to it.
