I looked at the new XK the other day, photos really don't do it justice - it's a beauty. Front grille aside, from many angles it really does look like it came from Newport Pagnell and not Coventry - in the flesh it looks a lot like a DB9.

C'mon, you've got to include this vehicle (if the released model is anything remotely akin to the XF) when you consider a replacement. I think Callum did a fine job of taking Jag in a bold new direction while respecting the styling DNA of the brand. I don't expect this new Jag to feel like a BMW - they certainly have not in the past, but they have come a long way in building a high quality, driver's-oriented vehicle.
BMW is quite proud of their product (read premium price!), despite noted quality issues. The stronger the competition becomes, the greater BMW's motivation to stay on top of their game. In other words, we stand to benefit from any escalation in the competitive marketplace.
I look forward to seeing more of the new Jag.

I work on jaguar powertrain design, I can't give too much away but the next generation jag gasoline and ford diesel engines are very good, especially diesel. This info has already been leaked to Autocar magazine. The next generation supercharged V8 will have more power and torque than the cuurrent M5 engine and if the exhaust note of the new XK is anything to go by, it will sound amazing.

If so, why do you drive a BMW?
