There's another thread (forget where in this forum) showing what the back-end looks like now. It looks much better than these preliminary shots.

The new rear or the current rear. "They do respect her bu(t), they love to watch her strut."

I'll come up with a link. Give me a minute....

OK, my mistake.
The article was actually from C&D and it's a spy shot of the car driving through S. Cali.

2007 Mercedes-Benz E-class
I like this more recent version compared to the photos shown at the beginning of this thread.
New E-Class-10262005103655.jpg

Edited to add:
Interestingly enough, the members over at the MBWorld.org forums are saying that this photo is actually of the upcoming S-class. Motor Trend did a review, "First Drive", of the new S500 in their 12/05 issue and this photo is indeed the S-class. So, it would seem Car & Driver incorrectly labeled this photo an E-class (but what would you expect from a 'spy' photo).

Geez, I surely hope the new E-class does NOT look like the photos posted earlier in this thread.

Attachment 8889
but honestly it makes the lexus look outdated, I really like the front but men U guys might throw up with the next picture
Attachment 8890
well hope u enjoyed leave ur comments!

Is that the second MB that has blatently copied Japanese cars? The back of the S class is the spitting image of the Acura RL. As we can see, the new E's front is the GS to a tee. I wonder what the new C class will look like?

Just changed new Merc E-Class for 530d SE in December 05. The E-Class was an E270CDI Avangarde with full glass roof, leather, auto climate control, 6 CD changer and was the worst car Ive ever owned for reliability. Taken away on a truck twice, CPU when wrong Twice, high pressure fuel pump failed, had two fuel leaks, five product recalls, the dealer took the dash out to fit the CD changer only to tell me they didnt need to, it rattled thereafter.
M-B are not that bad? Well if there not why have the E-Class sales tanked. It will be a long time before I buy another one. UK dealers owned by M-B UK are the ones with the worst service.
