What do you think of GX470? GX is a real truck, body on frame torsen differential, low rpm torg, etc..
My wife loves it so much I just got her another one exactly the same, color and everything as before.
(I was able to bring a payment down about $200)

From the pricing point you have to look for the volume dealer otherwise they will try to sell at MSRP or very close to it, there is a lot of room to negotiate.

I did like the GX470 but I wife thinks its to big and drives more like a truck, so this is why she likes the RX line ...

If it's a real truck then I might take a look at it to replace the Discovery but I doubt the GX is a real truck. Toyota hasn't made a real truck in the US for some time now. IFS has no place in a truck. And I never understood the IFS with rear leaf spring setup on some SUVs. And personally I don't care for the LSD center differential on the GX. You just can't beat a full locking center differential.

Well, she bought it and likes it ... but here are some things I just don't like about it ...

The navigation can not be set when you're driving. You have to stop the vehicle. I understand the safety thing, but I'm sitting in the passenger seat and I'm not able it set it when the vehicle is moving.

Secondly, the calcalation of estimated arrival time doesn't use (and recalculate) the time based on how fast you are driving, its done by average street and average highway speed (that you set up on a standalone screen) ... I love the way my e60 recalculates all the time ...

Finally, the touch screen, although easy to get around, you always have finger prints on the screen which looks really bad ...

The work around for the NAV (should work on your 4Runner) is press MENU then volume, then press the upper left of the screen then lower left. There is no button on the locations but press the space on the screen alternate from upper left and lower left until you get the service menu. Then press and hold the override button until it beeps. Then press BACK. You'll need to do this each road trip but it will let you over ride the park lockout.

To be honest the more I use the Toyota NAV system the more I hate it. My wife won't even use it anymore. On our drive to the the Outer Banks my wife let me use my NAV in the E60 and she would call me on the cell.

RX350 owns the market right now for luxury small SUV it has the best ride, reliability and features. It has been number one for several years since it came out and is Lexus's bread and butter. I love that vehicle and when my wife wants it, we will get the RX400h. You cant go wrong with the RX350. I owned the X5 4.6 and loved the way it handled but it had no room for storage, electronics is outdated compared to Lexus Navigation touch screen and blue tooth. Ride of the X5 was rather rough over anything but smooth roads. Performance could not be beat but if your wife is driving I doubt she will take cornes at 50 mph. Gas mileage on X5 v8 was horrible. RX350 gets great mileage with good HP.
