[quote name='Aaron' date='Nov 21 2004, 01:52 PM']The interior looks nice, but their car "feels" the same as many others (leather material, door/dash material), but their appointments are nicer than others (design, chrome accents, etc.).? The only car out there that "feels" like a BMW is BMW.? That is something that is hard to describe, but its that "it" factor.? It's special.

This Merc has got an identity chrisis!? What's it suppose to be, an E class replacement? an S class by product?? 4 doors mean a sedan but Merc is marketing it as a GT...??? So what is it???? Here in HK, Merc is comparing this car with the 6-series and Im like what???? 4 doors vs 2 doors??? I think this Merc will be a flop.
Btw, I think recent Merc line up is losing a "soul" (except maybe the SL).? It's not taking any bold chances, too conservative and playing it safe.? On the contrary, BMW is taking bold steps in its lineup design.? Take the 7 for instance, everyone thought it was weird at its intro, now alot of people love it for its unique lines.? MB, u need to work on your mojo or u'll be eating Bimmer dust (just compare profit results of MB & BMW).? Just my 2 cents.

. it's another class in between that two. imo, pretty strange
. a fully loaded e500 is about the same as the base cls430. what for
? so is bmw making a 5.5 series
?
I believe the only purpose for Merc CLS's existent is so that prospective buyers of 5 or 6 series BMWs can use it as a bargaining chip with their BMW dealers to get a better deal. ha ha ha ha ha ......

I am thinking about getting a 530i or cls 350, cause i hear that the new 350 engine is great, as well as the 7G gear box. I drove the 530i, its handling is great, way better than the e class that we have. Any idea how the 350 engine is?? It suppose to be better than the 530i engine, i heard. Oh, 1 move thing, i love the idrive system in the 5 series, i think it's the best. Way better than all those buttons in merc.

I think that you are completly wrong eggz. The engine i'm sure is very good, while the gearbox should be excellent from what i have read. The styling is a little strange, but then so was the e60 when it came out. And Mercedes are very very good cars.
