Looks like an awesome car, but I'd personally have a very hard time writing a 300K check to Lexus for the LFA when that same check could get me into an F458, a Gallardo or the new McLaren...

At this level, it's not just about capability (if it were, we'd all be drooling over the Nissan GT-R), it's all about the intangibles - and this is one area where the Japanese cars will always struggle against the established European exotics.
Nothing is for certain except for one's choice. Give them some time, and they might change people's taste and thoughts. Who would have thought Toyota back in the 1970's would be were they are today?

True - but back then, Toyota weren't trying to hawk 300K cars...

i read lexus wont be selling any of the LFA's but leasing them, in order to prevent speculators from driving up the prices (or more likely keeping the prices from tanking)...sounds like a good strategy, maybe ferrari should do this for the 458

Couldn't agree with you more! In Australia, this LFA costs AUD$750,000.00! The Ferrari 458 Italia is estimated to be around AUD$520,000.00~580,000.00.
So, if I had the money to buy the LFA, I'd purchase the following -

1. Ferrari 458 Italia; and
2. BMW M5 or BMW M6
