ugliest thing ive ever seen. Wouldnt pay 300k for that even if i had the money.
Well, would you pay $395K, the expected asking price reported by the car mags this month.

I think that, on pricing this car, Lexus has lost its mind. For this kind of money, you'd expect the LFA to be as least as fast as the Lamborghini Murcielago lp 670-4 Superveloce, which it is not.

It is one ugly car.
A GT-R not only looks better but accelerates faster than the LFA. And you could buy 4-5 GT-Rs for the price of a LFA.

LFA? No f'ing way.

Looks like an awesome car, but I'd personally have a very hard time writing a 300K check to Lexus for the LFA when that same check could get me into an F458, a Gallardo or the new McLaren...

At this level, it's not just about capability (if it were, we'd all be drooling over the Nissan GT-R), it's all about the intangibles - and this is one area where the Japanese cars will always struggle against the established European exotics.

I agree, but what you would say are the "intangibles?"

Design, tradition, history, heritage, exclusivity, marketplace perception, brand and mystique.

All things that come naturally to Ferrari and Lamborghini, less so to Lexus.

+1 Agree completely. There is an air about the European exotics that cannot be matched (at least partially because when was the last time Ferrari made a Camry "like" car?)

There is just something about the Ferrari's, Lambo's, and McLaren's of the world that cannot be matched - regardless of performance. The price tag is way too high for an UberCelica. If I wanted a car that was ugly but performed well and was exclusive I would just get a Gumpert.

It is, and will always, be a Lexus. A hyped up Toyota. No one can change my mind on this
That was back in the day. Quality-wise and materials used in Lexus vehicles are still different than it's Toyota counterpart. Lexus will not compare to BMW I know that (as I have both in the garage) but Lexus vehicles aren't rebadged Toyotas like they used to be back in the day. I compared it side by side, in my very own garage

As usual, I agree with everything you've said.

Bottom line: $300K for a Lexus supercar is ridiculously overpriced. Lexus lacks the supercar cred to charge that kind of bank. If Lexus were smart, it would do with the LFA what it did so well with the LS 400 to develop market share: roll out the car at an affordable price (here under $150K or maybe even $125K), gain market share and brand image and then rachet up the price over time.

+1 on all of this

Toyota is not a supercar producer and they will not have gone through all the growing pains the other supercar companies have, I wouldnt trust it for one second honestly

and at that price, id get a ford GT40 twice or a lambo

actually they are rebadged completely. Compare a Japanese Toyota to an American Lexus and its the same material, the Toyotas that we get in the states are watered down and overpriced

for what we pay, we should be getting only what is called a lexus
