My Ride: E60
I know the GS has been discussed on here and I'm not a fan. Looks like a Maxima. I'm surprised about the new IS though. It looks decent for the money. Chock full of features.
No flames necessary since this is not the Roadfly board. Just interesting info.

Not a huge fan of the back of the car. That roof sloping all the way down to the trunk makes it look a little tto much like a hatchback of some sort. Otherwise, seems pretty nice.

My Ride: 530iA Silver Grey , black interior. Premium Package, Navigation System, Head-up Display, Radio Satellite, Adaptive Xenon Headlights. AC Schnitzer Front Lip, H&R springs, Rear red reflector, All season Floor mat,
But i don't think IS350 should be a competition for E60. More likely for E90..

My Ride: (USA) 645Ci, Silver Gray, Chateau, Cold Weather PKG, Premium Sound PKG, Sport PKG, Step, NAV [Std Equip in 645], HUD, Satellite (SIRIUS) Radio, Aux Input, Bluetooth enabled using iPhone 3GS w/ adapter cradle - Build date - 01/05, Baby delivered 2/24/05
It sure retains the Lexus family profile. Here is a case of dead on back I like but the quarter rear view I do not as kscarrol pointed out - the hatchback look. And although taking cues from the new Audi snout look and even a little from the E90, the front has some good points. But the front has a disturbing "protuberance" look to it ala Cyrano de Bergerac

I have to give credit where credit is due, I think it looks great. Except for the mirrors, they need to be mounted on the a-pillar instead of on the door. Looks cheap.

My Ride: Current - 330 Sport Topaz Blue, Grey Leather, HK HIFI...lost interest!!
Waiting for - 535d Sport, Silver Grey, Foldy Mirrors, 172 19",Logic7,Pro Radio,Through load,Heated Front Seats,High Gloss shadowline,Black Maple,Headlight wash,Sun Protection Glass.
Test drove it in the UK about 3 months ago, its fully loaded, the option sheet was for metalic paint options only. The drive was very very quiet and smooth and ......boring. I felt so seperated from the driving experiance that I felt as if I was the pasenger rather than the driver.
Thats why I ordered the 535 E60

Agree! The IS350 is quite a good design, both interior and exterior.
Very good options on the car too.
Might just get one.

OOPS sorry guys thought it was the GS you were on about.
I drove the GS not the IS. Lexus is a very refined drive however, and in the UK doent yet have the cudos that it does in the US.
German cars tend to get first attention, Lexus is coming up on the flanks, some still thinlk of it as a posh Toyota..

My only hope is that THEY push BMW a little. I love the look of this new IS and I really love the look of those options (Nav looks fantastic, the paddles will be great, awesome sound system with surround, Mp3, WMA, etc).
Don't get me wrong, I'm a BMW guy. I just hope the BMW engineers see some of this that Lexus delivers and it gives them a kick in the pants.
