Too many buttons on the console. The worst thing about Lexus is the touch screen. The view will be wiped out when the sunshine to it. BMW's screen is geniusly design.

I love the New IS's exterior and the sophiscated interior, but they say that it dosent have Performance like the BMW does. And they say that it has an overly aggressive VDIM system.

I personally think the car looks great. Ive owned 3 Lexus' in the past and they were all great. Very reliable cars. Care free pretty much. Other than regular maintanance.

I do agree the IS is a better looking car than the GS, but after speaking to my lexus sales rep (a long time friend) they are apparently selling them like crazy. I actually got a letter in the mail inviting me to the grand unveiling of the IS. (wish bmw would do this). Its awesome, free food, drinks! and a few celebrities! I really do love the lexus atmosphere.

But its no BMW, Close but not their yet......

heh... and look at the IS350 driver run circles around the iDrive user when doing any function.....

if you think iDrive is the best, you haven't been in other cars in a LONG time.....

the new IS350 also has ventilated seats.... I think that's a first in it's class....

It seems to me the current trend in Asian design is following the 1980 jelly been trend. Infinity, Lexus, Acura are starting to look the same.

Where did individuality go?

Look at this which is from Edmunds Inside Line, it's hilarious:
"In fact, if you were to ask us, "What's the most advanced, refined and confident sport sedan under $40,000 today?" we'd very likely tell you it's the Lexus IS 350. And if you then asked us, "Which modern sport sedan would you most like to own and drive?" we'd tell you "The BMW 3 Series."

A very solid, capable and desirable luxury sedan the IS 350 is. And if you simply focus on acceleration numbers, you could even say it's "the new standard of class-leading performance." Now, where are the BMW keys?""

Great quote. That sums things up right there.

also love the edmunds quotes, Motor Trend & automobile have also said the same thing. Both issues of the magazines and I think even car & driver tested the competitors against the 3 series and all of them lost, including the IS350 the Audi & most definitely the Cadillac. If you want a crotch rocket get the cadillac or IS350 (not to say these are very credible cars, my sister had a GS300 till a terrible car accident) but if you want an extension of yourself better find those damn 3 series keys!

I found Lexus is nut that they don't offer manual in IS350. What's the deal? The side of Lexus always looks boring. Front looks good, back looks like a Hyundai. I don't understand why BMW copy Kia and Lexus copy Hyundai They have their own head but they borrow other people's butt
I'd buy GS460 if the trunk is large enough, has side curtains, BMW handling and power, looks good in front of 5-star hotel, HUD, not Toyota butt.
LS 430 last year rated their engine 290hp, but this year after their re-evaluation to comply with SAE standard, it falls down to 275hp. What a shame. BMW always rate their HP correctly.
Also, in Motor Trend magazine, I'm wondering why G35 w/ 280hp having the same performance as E90 w/ 260hp. The weight is only ~20kg different (BMW is lighter). This means that BMW hp rating is good. Toyota, Nissan, Honda's hp is overrated. Need to subtract 20hp from their marketing number.
IS has 300+hp is correct? Should be it 280 hp in real life?

Performance is very consistent with 300 HP and, accordingly, with the 545i. Please see related thread on IS350 performance. The 330i barely nosed out the IS350 in a recent comparison article--also mentioned in the "performance" thread.
