But I told her, these things will only bring a certain happiness. The health of you and your family, and the love and care you get and give to your family, PRICELESS..
Think of it this way, cars will not give you complete happiness because BMW will always refresh and redesign this freakin E60! Heck, who knew in 08 when they got LED blinkers that they would put more buttons for the iDrive on the 09? Or that the 10 has a slightly bigger screen and a more user friendly Navi system? You will never be able to catch up, car companies always win.
But with a person or family you love, the person will NEVER change (usually, unless you let the person ruin his/her life but still you should still love that person). The "design or features" of that person will always be unique and will never change. He/she won't have a bigger Navi screen or LED this and that someday, if you get what I mean?
So feel blessed and lucky that you drive a BMW and you are hanging out in a great community like this one you are in. There will always be someone who's ahead of you, and someone who's below you and you just have to be grateful for what you have.

At the same time, I try to not be so "shallow" as to make my goals materialistic ones, but sometimes you can't help it. I still think it gives you a sense of accomplishment, but it's best not to overdo it with items.

Eh, I am happy to have the 5er I have. The only thing I want next is the M5, period. I don't care whether it';s the new F10 or an 08 or 09 model - it's a friggin M!! I don't buy my cars to make anyone but me happy, as I have told friends in the past - if you want to be comfortable, make a payment, until then sit down and shut up, because the only one that needs to be comfortable is me - it's my car.

My Ride: 2004 545i - Bone stock... help!
Living in Dubai would give me one hell of a complex if I thought like that. I share a garage with some sick cars. My wife spilled a cup of coffee on a scuderia while trying to carry too much to the elevators. OOPS! I'm quite happy in my 545. When I'm leaving for work at the same time as one of the super cars, I take a moment and enjoy both of our exhaust notes rumbling around the garage - very pretty thing.
If the guy with a black GT3 saw how close my wife's pathfinder gets to him every time she pulls out of her parking spot, he'd have a freaking heart attack (I almost did for him!) haha.
Unfortunately I'm moving off the Palm this month due to my work's office moving 150kilometers away, and my next apartment is quite literally 1/4th the cost so my car will be in the top tier of my new neighborhood. I enjoyed having supercar neighbors =\.
