Remember the Lexus that looked just like the Mercedes S class?

I wish Ford and GM could emulate something decent. I can't think of a single Ford/GM car I like except for the Corvette. I'd just like for them to be somewhat competitive.

Hmm, I can think of a couple ...

I sort of like the Cadillac STS-V.

And the new Solstice should be sweet.

Yeah, those are cool. I like the new experimental STS with a supercharged LS2 engine making 505hp and 520 lbs/ft of torque. Now that would be an interesting car. There is also a new Impala with a small block V8 making 303 hp. GM was never bad with engines though, it's the rest of the car that's so so... Who wouldn't want an H1?

I think the new Ford Mustang is pretty decent. It's supposed to be quite good. The Escape hybrid is a neat little SUV as well.

I agree on the Solstice, but I was talking about extant cars (or is the Solstice out now?). Actually, I like the sports-car Caddy. Can't remember its model #--the $70,000 car. The Mustang isn't too bad.

Solstice is out - dealers have them on the lot (going for a test drive this weekend ).

The sports-car Caddy I think you are talking about is the XLR?

Right, the XLR. Thanks. Have fun in the Solstice.

Saw a black Solstice on the road yesterday and it looked real sharp. Looks bigger than it actually is and larger than its competitors on the road, at least from the front.

I got to test drive the Solstice this past weekend. Didn't get to push it, just scooted around the block a few times. First, initial impressions ...

Positives: styling (esp. w/top down), RWD, 50/50 weight distro, nice leather seats (optional).

Negatives: manual top  , not enough power, expensive (esp. when you have to pay separately for air condition! and separately for ABS ), notchy-shifter.

All-in-all, not a bad roadster for GM esp. if you are getting it just for the looks, which it has plenty of.

Both the solstice and sky look pretty promising. If you're looking for a fun convertible for around $20K, they seem pretty hard to beat. Once they put some decent power under the hood, they should be pretty decent performers.

OMG how Toyota continues proudly Jap's copying traditions!!

Lexus looks like more flat and somehow ugly. Maybe just a little biased opinion!

Speaking of cadillac, let's not forget the CTS-V. I don't know how it drives but I kinda like the way it looks. Saw a black one with 19" rims on the way to NYC and it looked really good. With 400hp, that think got to be a beast!!
