Vaguely of the 123 style as well. This is a familiar look that I see while walking towards my car in parking lots.

When are we gonna start seeing imitation idrives in these cars? I think Audi has something similar already.

Audi has Multi-Media Interface (MMI) which I've heard good reviews on compared to iDrive. Mercedes also has something similar but I forgot what it's called.

Compared to the iDrive, the Audi MMI is actually more difficult to use. The MMI is more button-dependent than knob dependent. The MMI thus forces the user to be familiar with buttons and a twist knob -- 2 driver interfaces v. 1 driver interface for the iDrive.

The MB system - COMAND - is just a travesty. It isn't just complicated but illogical. I recall having to go through 8 different steps simply to reset the trip odometer.

I can honestly say that the Audi MMI is absolutely confusing. I had the new Audi A6 as a rental this past weekend while I was in Florida and its no E60, The driver's compartment is cramped and working the radio and a few other electronics was a bloody pain in the arse. Oh, it also has the lawyer screen. Overall it drove like a piece of pile

Never used MMI but it looks to me as though you have to look down at the buttons and that means eyes off the road. The Merc screen is set so low down its got to be a hazzard. I-Drive all the way for me.

Hmmm.....E60's side profile together with the Audi A6's tail.

No doubt Lexus has the best build quality, but they need a more "original" design than copying the Germans.

Well... that car's whole reason for being is the German cars that it emulates. Can anyone honestly say that the Japanese would have originally made such a car if there weren't already large German luxury sedans?

It's meant to be derivative in every respect, so I don't fault it for that. I will however relentlessly point out that it and the "others" are nothing more than facsimiles... by design.
