I nearly bought an Aston V8 Roadster when I got my last 911. It is a fantastic car - the noise is heavenly (particularly over 3500 RPM when it just sings), the interior is spectacular and you get a *ton* of attention - that car would have suited me better than my 911 truth be told, the only issue is I couldn't get the price to the point where I felt comfortable pushing the button.

I have no doubt that the M6 and the 911 are better performers, but neither has the style, sophistication , personality or presence of the Aston. Not close.

As for ownership of the brands, I never understand why it is even remotely relevent.

Would you be turned off a Ferrari because FIAT own them?

Would you be turned off a Lamborghini because Audi (and ultimately VW) own them?

Would you be turned off a Porsche because VW (soon) will own them?

it's all about the cars - pure and simple.

If you get a Jag, don't ever return to this forum again.

M5 is kinda 'dated' now. Poor fuel economy WILL get on your nerves at some point.
E63 is a torque monster. Gotta love that. Styling is subjective, but I like it and since it just came out, it's not 'dated'.

Big downside to the MB is you'll be like Calton...and no one wants that.
100% agree.

I can't wait until you have kids, Ed. That Turbo will look good on the used dealer lot in a year or two.

Get rid of the wife and just remove the passenger seat in the front, so you can fit the baby seat in the rear. hahahaha!

I am doing really good. I will drive one and see and if I can find a used 08-09 that is more than likely the way I go. As much as the M5 intrigues me I am worried about commuting in a V10.

No need. Car seat will fit just fine

For obvious reasons (yes, and before you say it, Calton, one of them is this child is too cute to be mine ), this isn't my picture or my kid

I was going to say that this kid doesn't look too Asian, but she sure is cute. Hahahahaha! This is good to know for my next car purchase when I have to sell the wife on it being "kid friendly".
