My Ride: 2006 Audi A8 4.2TDI
Previous rides:
2005 E61 530d, 20" Breyton reps, Eibach springs, M5 bumper/mirrors/MFSW
2000 Audi S6 Avant, 18" OZ, RS6 exhaust etc
1998 Audi A8 4,2Q, 19" RS4 wheels, Remus exhaust KW coilovers etc
1986 Audi 100CC, funky fresh steel rims w plastic covers, rubber lip on boot.....
1987 BMW 320i, 15" alloys + rubber lip on boot :)
1982 Opel Ascona 1,6DL, tinted windows and a big-ass subwoofer :P
So I while back I let my E61 530d go as it was approaching 200000kms which usually is a limit where the price takes a plunge over here. Since I've been missing my old D2 A8 pretty much since the minute I sold it I figured I should head back into that segment. For a while I was contemplating a LCI 535d but none of my old mods would fit and I didn't want to start looking all over again for the same mirrors, bumpers etc etc. Then I started looking at some 730 and 745d's but I never really felt the interior design and they don't come with x-drive so I decided to have a look at some Audis and finally found myself a 2006 4.2TDI. CPO, phantom black with pretty nice options.
I thought my 530 had a nice engine but Jesus Christ this one pulls...the comfort is out of this world with the awesome vented/massage seats and I finally have a sound system worthy the name instead of the crap BMW are throwing into the E61 for standard in Europe. Only negative is that it's somewhat of a pig on the road but I hope a drop will cure some of it. Not planning too many other mods but I'll try slappin on a new grille, ipod interface and facelift rear lights but that's it, I hope
Anyway, I'll keep lurking around here but thanks for all the good advice from this forum during my BMW ownership! Here are a few pics of the replacement
