I agree 100%. the first time i saw Genesis from the front i thought its a Mercedes with some kind of grill mode.. And yeah, from the back it's like e60. And there are some lines from infinity there too.

Its an Obama car.

Also, I don't care how great it is... its a damn Hundai.

Ha ha. The Genesis is not a BMW competitor. It's aimed directly at Lexus. It, like the Lexus cars, is just not a driver's car. It's a car with a powerful engine, a beautiful, luxurious interior and a pillowly-soft, ultra-isolated, dead suspension. Sorta like Nyquil on wheels. Not my kind of car but it might be just right for my mother....

I saw this car at the auto show. Everything inside is just so cheap looking. I give them credit on the motor engineering and maybe even a couple bonus points on styling, but that's it. Fast or not, at the end of the day you'd still be driving a Hyundai....unless someone smarter then me makes an E60 conversion kit for it.

Hyundai just reminds me of the Japanese from the 70s and 80s.

Remember how Japs were trying to mimic everything 'German' especially, automobiles, electronics and camera lenses etc.

Japs were criticized for copying everything shamelessly with no originality. They have come a long way and have improved beyond everyone' s thought. Japanese electronics ended up surpassing germans.

Even though, I see Japs Automobile Premium brand is inferior to the Germans, I would not be surprised if they would ever surpass the germans near future.

Koreans are just doing the same thing, Koreans took the same route as Japanese did. Remember Samsung and LG used to be cheap third class brand in electronics mimicking Japanese electronics.

Look at them now! Samsung and LG are like number 1 and 2 in the market. Korean electronic engineers from Samsung, & LG are the one who develop and release latest Flat screen tech, faster larger Memory module and others.

Hyundai still has a long way to go but noone can not deny that they have done well so far.

I'm in Korea and have live here for the past 2yrs. When I saw the Genesis here, I had no idea what it was, but thought it was a bada$$ looking car. Whenever one passed me by, I always scratched my head and wondered...what is that. It looked like a Bentley.

Over here the the truck badge is different along with the front grill, providing it with an ultimate luxury look. If I decided to live here on a permanent basis...it would be the car I own. Very nice.

Finally, the Hyundia's, Kia's, and Daewoo's are built totally different here. It is very comman to see cars with over 500,000K on the odometer.
