My Ride: E60 "Stripper"
Now C6 "Stripper"
Have you guys seen the New GS 430?
The nose looks kind of like an Acura Tsx or Audi A4.
Performance-wise not as good as a 545i
From a side to rear quarter view it looks like the 1st generation GS.
By the way some guy in a Pre 2003/2004 GS430 today on the West Side Highway by the Intrepid cut me off.
Then tried to challenge me at a stoplight.
Lucky for him i had my aunt in the car, or me and my 545i would've spanked him royally!

The new GS looks clean and well built. I like certain views and angles and I think it will look better in person. I like the brushed look of the speedo and tach(I believe) and I like the interior appointments. It all looks good, and you know Toyota will build quality. With that said, it does not excite me at all, and the E60 makes me smile everytime I see one. I saw a white 545 on the highway last week, and I almost had a Jimmy incident!

I had a look at new GS430 in person, and it looks soooo Toyota. Tons of people gather around BMW 5-series, and almost no one examine the GS430 like the 5-series.
The new GS430 should be the Avalon instead. It fit wells with my dad's style
Lexus is a porn star name, so are Mercedes and Carerra (spelling?), but those car does not look exotic. Something is wrong there

Everyone,
Take a look at clublexus.com. There are a ton of pics over there. I think I like the design. I'll probably go check it out if the dealer has it when I visit Indy.
You know, looking at all of these competitors, no one will ever be able to say that BMW is a follower, they are trendsetters. I look at how many people on Roadfly smashed the side panels of the E60 because it didn't have door molding, because the dash lacked buttons, because of the "eye" treatment. But, when I look at the competition, none of them have molding, they are all trying to implement some kind of I-drive, and Lexus is hiding buttons in a dash pullout to reduce clutter. No matter what magazine's or sales or whatever says, BMW is still the leader in the sports sedan field and I don't see that changing soon. I believe that the heads of these companies know it, and they is why they are trying their best to follow the trendsetter. They may be able to copy and "improve" I-drive, they may be able to get some design cues, but one thing they can't copy is the drive!
