I still have my book from my contracts class. I am sure that I could draft a full liability waiver for the moderators, for free. I could protect you guys from 100% of all liability suits if you incorporate the forum in Sri Lanka, and the plantiffs are from Norway.

It's protected as-is. I don't think the forum would want to go into all that trouble just to be liability-free when it is so in its present state.

The only problem is with scamming vendors that see forum members are easy prey. I think everyone's learned their lesson and things should be fine after we punish the present scammer(s).

(keep 'em coming)

I do not check the forums often as I work constantly, but ordered a kit when the feedback was all positive, have waited very patiently and just read the forum today to realize that this situation arose. Unfortunate. I have spent a lot of time on VWVortex in past years and ordered every part from vendors there without incident, I am very surprised by all of this.

we need to have FBI or any law enforcement to be our member of forum so that they can check their informations for us...

Both quad_m and detto did not have a company website.

All vendor should have company website and in the forum they must include their phone number address on their posts and giving moderators proof of their company by copying license for business with copy of birth certificate or something. and three sources for proof of business at that location, for example utility bills, electrical bills, and landline phone as well. No cell phone or bills that they can change anytime.

no cellphone number crap anymore on this

No, don't do that! We're here to share and exchange. You asked a very good question that has to be asked, thanks to a couple of bastards. I wish there were methods to protect consumers in cases like these. Unfortunately, the best protections we have lay in our ability to choose proven vendors.
Perhaps the next fly-by-night vendor that shows up on this forum provides a business location or website address. These can be checked out with a background check of the owner. Civil and criminal background checks can run, to determine viability. Then one of the forum members that resides near the vendor can recon the establishment. After that a blood sample for DNA testing.
