Just to add in... I was involved in a dispute with SilverRush/Alpine550 a while back and our dispute was not resolved. His Silverrush and Apine550 accounts were closed. Dennis Huang from Vancouver, BC shipped me a set of Breyton rims where 3 of them were bent. Two of them were severely bent and I had to get them replaced while the other one was repaired. He just kept the dispute going in circles, not reaching a final agreement. Fellow member Bambi posted the forums of our disputes. You fellow members should take a close look at those forums before purchasing from anyone with the name of Dennis Huang.
Best Regards,
Paul

That's hilarious...maybe he had this all planned from the very beginning. Playing one off the other, to cover his tracks, should he ever get called out. Veight....what else did you find? This is like a Nancy Drew murder mystery.

its great how this issue was solved through the forum. Its actually gives me the confidence to purchase through here...

one question for the administrator though is it possible to have a rating system similar to eBay?s, or something where the seller can be verified.

Maybe people who sell on this forum should start registering through a dif. process like verifying name number address through the forum. And the admin can keep track of this. Just in case a scam ends up in court. I know it may seem like a hassle but i think in the end it will make the forum better.

One other thing. It really pissed me off that this P. O. S silverrush or whatever his names, said he is going to start selling to a younger crowd. WTF is that supposed to mean. There has to be a way to start warning people and admin on other site. maybe we can list this guy's IP address

its obvious that this guy's M.O is to rip people off. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

just some thoughts
I can't speak for the admins but my gut feeling says that it's unlikely that anything like eBay's ratings system could be easily implemented here. There already is a rating system (the five stars) and system for leaving comments built into the forum software but I don't think too many people use it. If people want to rate others, by all means, go to their profile page and rate them. Unfortunately, the comments can be filtered or screened by the individual user so they're likely not going to be a good source of negative feedback.

Remember, this forum isn't solely about buying and selling parts -- it's about people from all over the world sharing a common interest in the BMW E60 (and it's variants.) It's natural that a classified section exists to help people buy and sell items but as with any online purchase, "caveat emptor." I don't know of any way that this site would be able to protect people (or guarantee them) from being scammed. The buyer needs to ask the right questions, document the answers, use telephone numbers whenever possible, etc. to cover their asses. I think payment systems like PayPal will help intervene when a transaction goes bad.

I think that this forum did it's job in exposing the issue here as soon as a problem came up. The self-policing efforts of our membership all came together and hopefully prevented a bad situation from getting worse. I don't expect this to be the last time someone gets scammed here but unfortunately, there are less than trustworthy people out there who prey on people like us who are sometimes willing to believe things that aren't necessarily true (or that haven't been proven.)

Hopefully this little incident will serve as a reminder for everyone to be careful, be skeptical, etc. Maybe the old "trust but verify" adage is appropriate here...

He probably was using two different computers each set to automatically sign on -- one for SilverRush and one for Alpine550. It's likely he didn't even realize he was posting under two different accounts at the time...

After this idiot has been called out by the members of this forum, I wonder if he follows thru on his refund promises? Somehow I doubt it, unfortunately for 5er Sport and Khooger...
