Hi all,
My name's Jason who posted a question around credibility of Project Cars.com.
Even though I had to wait 2 months to get my kits delivered, I've finally received the kit several weeks ago and installed them.
In my case, they found a defective part so they had to re-produce a new bumper in their factory in China.
Anyways, I've got the parts finally, and they will also send me a free gift for the inconvenience.
Thanx,
JR

Folks,
4 months after I paid for the Cayenne Kit & after a lot of pain & frustration - Kevin & his scamster organization delivered a kit that was absolutely substandard and does not match any promised specifications. Simple things like packing lists etc were not provided by Kevin.
Kevin got in touch with me (the guy must either have brass balls or a thick skull) offering me a free gift in return for positive feedback.
Kevin - "To compensate about the incident of delay. We would like to send you the carbon fiber gear knob or the carbon fiber center handle bar as the free gift. So you can choose which one you would like to get. Also we would like to know whether you could notify the peoples of the forums to let them know that we have solved the problem eventually. The fact that we did sent you the kit with some delay but not that we took your money and not send you the kit. This incident was causing by the factory and we have already discontinued the relationship with them. I just want the people know that we did sent you the kit."
My Reply - "I do not want your gift and I am not comfortable mis-guiding people in the forums. You responded only after repeated complaints to the authorities and you gave no response when I asked for a refund. I will however update the forums with feedback about what transpired. At the time of concluding the sale, you had promised "IMMEDIATE" delivery and if your idea of immediate is 6 months, I think people should know that upfront. Also, I do not believe anything you say about the reasons for delays. I have already written to the HongKong Chamber of Commerce about your practices as well as VISA, Mastercard and your bank that accepted the wire transfer on your behalf."
My personal opinion is this is a scam organization & I made a mistake dealing with them.
For anyone stuck in a similar situation, the following course of action worked for me
a) File a complaint with the HK police on id cpu-tcd@police.gov.hk and cc the sales rep on the complaint. I have attached the complaint I filed with the hongkong police on email id
b) File a complaint with the Consumer Council on http://www.consumer.org.hk/website/ws_en/c...tocomplain.html
I have attached the councils letter to ProjectCars.
It was only after my complaints to the cops and the council and the letter from the council to Project cars that this person responded.
As to the question on why I wired the money - because I thought I had done my diligence. We do a lot of global business but this is the first time I have fallen victim to a scam, probably because I was passionate about the kit and not thinking clearly.
For what its worth, the end product is shabby and the kit turned out to be exactly like Kevin - full of bull shit.
