This is the bluetooth problem I had mentioned in another thread for the iPhone 4. Other people are reporting this to be happening as well. I personally have experienced it three times.

 

Sorry to intrude on your 5 series forum but I googled a problem I have with my iphone 4 and idrive and found this thread and thought someone might be able to help me. I've just bought a 57 (2007) plate M3 and am having trouble making calls on the iPhone 4 using the BMW idrive and Bluetooth. My phone pairs fine and I can find all of my contacts, but when I click on contact none of the options (including) call are highlighted and so can't be selected. The idrive shows no network or phone signal even though the signal is showing strong on the actual iPhone. Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this? I do not know what firmware I have on the idrive, and do not know how to update it? I have iPhone OS 4.0.2
