VZW BB Curve user here, no problems....rare to have problems with BB's no matter which carrier from what I've read. Only issue most members tend to have is if you have a lot of contacts...I think 500 was the number, perhaps 250..anyway, easy fix for that is to break the contacts up into groups and set some not to pair with your e60...

I use a Samsung SCH-i760 smartphone, and it works flawlessly! 
My wife uses her LG nV2 and it also works well, it's really not an issue these days finding a cellphone to pair with our cars, so really whatever she likes SHOULD work!

yeah, it is preference based on type of plan and service you want. AT&T is still your best choice for versatility. i was just being an advocate for not switching to verizon. any BT phone should work with your car though
