Who manufactures BMW Bluetooth copmponents?
Q: Who manufactures BMW Bluetooth copmponents?
I thought that this might help to determine the source of compatibility or incompatibility. If we knew which Bluetooth stack the OEM uses, then we could better determine which phones are likely to be compatible. :'(

The handset for the BMW needs OPP (Object Push Profile) and OBEX (Object Exchange) OR GAP (General Access Profile) to work.
An easier way is to look at this page which is pretty up to date : http://www.x5world.net/bluetooth_compatible_phones.htm
The component manufacturers are listed at Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) http://www.bluetooth.com

That means that the device is "Qualified" to synch with a phone bearing that same logo.
