Anyone having trouble with the *Dial Name* function of Voice Dialing?

When I tell it to *Dial Name* it tells me that my phone book is empty. But its not I can see all the names inside the iDrive. I also tried saving both my phone book on the SIM card and on the phone but neither of them worked.

I can get the car to *Dial Number* and that works fine... I just cant get it to *Dial Name*

Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone else get that function to work?

In other words, you need to create a separate phonebook for the car? Not the same as the phonebook of the mobile phone?

I saw the problem today!

Yup thats right... you have to create a different phone book for the car. Hit the voice command button and say "Save Name" it'll ask you to store the name and then store the number to dial in relation to that name you said.

Up to 50 can be stored on the car's Voice dialing system.

what type of phone?
With my Moto v710 I have not stored any
names on car. But if I say "dial name" it asks me "please say the
name" I say dial "smith" and it responds "would you like to be connected to "
and it picks the "smith entry out of my phonebook, highlighting it. I say yes and it dials-
The v710 atleast needs no traing or storing, it is smart enough to
find the name in the phonebook by voice recognition all by itself.

I think it is different if you have NAV. I read some where about that.

if you have NAV then it will take it off your CP. But if you dont, then you need to create one.

Then again, i can be wrong about that.

I dont have NAV.
