cobradav - for the Moto v710 you asked:
"A friend has 8700_01.40R as software version. Is this newer or older than your 50295 and why are the numbering systems different? She is having problems with people hearing her in her E64."
The software version "8700_01.40.OR" is found by going to main menu-->Phone Info-->Other Information-->S/W Version. As far as I know, this is the latest software version - I bought my phone with this version amd it works great once it's paired up with the car. People on the other end of the call said I sound just like I'm on a regular phone.
The PRL version code is "50295". This is found by going to Main Menu-->Phone Info-->Other Information-->PRL Version. The Verizon representative should have told you that you can update this periodically by dialing *228 option 2 on your phone. This should be done from your local calling area - it updates something to do with your cell phone receiving capability - nothing to do with the phone software and bluetooth.
Hope this helps.
Just got a new 710 today from Verizon, called customer service and they said it has the latest version which is 50295.? Anyone else have this version, if so, any issues using it in the car?? Have not tried it in my "wifes" car yet.

I bought my V710 about two weeks ago right after I took delivery of my 2005 545.
The phone paired perfectly. It instantly downloaded the phonebook and allowed me to voice dial from it. It will not recognize pause symbols in stored number sequences, however. Does anybody know how to do this?
Sorry I don't know the phone version. I did check the official BMW website listing this as the only officially compatible Verizon phone (with the footnote giving the necessary software version of the phone). I did check that this was what was on the current Verizon Moto V710 phone.
The only way I can get it to work with pauses is by dialing from the V710 itself. You will still hear it coming from the car speakers. I use this to call into my office voicemail system. I also have to press the numbers on the V710 to skip, delete or save a message.

This may be stating the obvious, but you have a problem, either with the car or 710. I would bring it to the dealer, find the Bluetooth expert, probably the youngest sales person and have them screw with it.
