unlocked treo 650 doesn't work
#1
hi guys
just bought an unlocked treo 650 to use on tmobile. fantastic phone, but doesnt pair at all with my 545
called palm and they said i would get no pairing or inconsistent pairing at best until they put an update out for the gsm phones. this may take months. only verizon/sprint cdma phones have the update now as has been posted here.
anybody with any different experience or knowledge before i return this great phone?
thanks

[/quote]yes, but this update does not include the necessary bluetooth changes if you look over the details of it. this is what the guy told me. the specific bluetooth update is still to come, and if i could get it to work with this .13 update, it would still be shitty performance according to him (dropped calls, sporadic pairing, etc)
anybody try it with an unlocked phone?
thanks again

I got the Treo working on a friend's new E90 320d, working very well. I also have the latest update from Palm. So my expectation is that it will perfectly work.
Perhaps you could explain in more detail what's not working. Doesn't the Treo recognize the BMW's bluetooth device? Doesn't it pair? Where does it go wrong, with entering the pass codes? Or .....? Were you able of pairing other phones?
Regards,
eric

hi
the car does not recognize the phone at all, in any way. nothing happens.
would you tell me which software version you have on your phone and in your car?
u prob. know this, but on the phone, go to 'options' in the phone appllication and go down to phone info. it'll give you the software version. i have 1.06 and i believe and the new update is for 1.13. is that what you have? my 545 had 16.2, but that shouldn't be the issue.
let me know if your phone works tomorrow, and congrats on the car
thanks

Hi,
On the Treo I have 1.13, firmware 01.28.
The phone pairs okay.
No favorites are synchronizing (yet)! That's a dissappointment!
I used the bluetooth wizard on the Treo while the car was in its "settings" menu.
Worked well from the start. The Treo now connects when I step into the car.
And my voice commands works!
Bye

Hi,
So, that's your problem. The settings menu is the menu where you can manage all the general settings of your car. In the communications menu you cannot setup a new phone.
In the main screen you have to press the knob (on the "i"). At the end of the list (at least on my car) there is an item where you can pair new phones. See the manual!
In that menu you have to start with the Treo to find your car.
Bye
