Using the iPhone with no issues but it didn't work with the iPod adapter.

So the idrive does not recognize it Alex ?

The iPhone didn't talk with the iDrive. It charges and you can play songs manually (need to use the iphone touch screen).
I have the same problem with the Bose iPod Dock... The iPhone isn't an ipod 100% substitute.

You're right it's not officially compatible. During the Benelux meet I tried 2 iphones from members and when I connected the cable (with power off) the iphone initially showed "not compatible". When I turned the key and went to Entertainment all the music was there !!

I had paired the phone beforehand for telephone use, don't know if that made any difference.

But this experience was with 2 iphone's, so no coincidence...could it be the hacked software on the iphone ? (different versions?)

Maybe. I didn't try to acess the iPhone by iDrive because of the message. After your post I must try it again!

You are right! After a few seconds I was able to get full access via iDrive.

Now I didn't need to bring both for the M5.
