So the Treo works in a similar fashion as the iPaq 6315.

It will play audio through the car stereo... but will not allow vehicle control of the device.

Helpful information.

Thank you.

I dropped off my car last night. They told me I had to leave them my Treo 650 so they can "match it with my car", yah right !!! In any event I left it with them.

They also told me I had to pay for the Bluetooth upgrade (2 hours @ $100 an hour!)

I'm also getting the latest software version; don?t know which one is currently out.

And it so happens that my first service is due.

I will let you know the outcome of my Treo 650 and the Bluetooth.

Just got my car back today (after 3 days in the dealership) downloaded and install the CarKit update and the phone works great !!!!!!

The only issue I see is I can't add and or transfer the phone book from my Treo 650 to IDrive. The only entry in the phone book is for Voicemail and when I try to dial it (?Call Voicemail?), it ends within a second. But if you say "Dial 732-555-1234 Dial: it dials that number and works fine.

If anyone wants any more details, just let me know and I will be happy to help out.

Yes and No.

When someone calls there number is shown on the screen. There name is not listed because the phone book is not transferred to IDrive from the cell phone.

Yes you can Accept or Reject calls.

BTW, If you do not apply this patch the Phone and IDrive will loose connectivity. The only way it works if when you make or receive calls you must hit the send/end button on your phone.

Don't blame the car. Its your phone and its firmware version. Many phones have restricted BT capability. You need it fairly unrestricted and OBEX allowed for the phonebook to transfer.
