I just got my 10/04 E60 530i to pair and work with my Treo 650!! I actually didint think that I had the bluetooth installed in my car but after reading a couple posts, I determined that I did. I followed the reugar instructions found on this site at
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?show...103&hl=passkey
I successfully used the phone via bluetooth on a total of 3 calls 2 of which were nearly a 1 hour to ex-girlfriends (I needed long conversations, and I knew they would be). The car will accept calls and send calls but only by using the phone to answer and receive calls. It basically switches to the car speakers and microphone when you answer or call out.
The phonebook doesnt transfer, nor do the numbers correlate with names on the screen, there are no names. Also you cant dial by using the screen on the car and I didnt seem to to able to see the lists of recent calls and such.
A couple more things, when you go through the screen to communcation then phone, it says please activate phone, I dont know if I am going to the right place but the only way to get anything to show about the phoneon the screen is when I inititate a call.
I just went out to test again, 15 Minutes later to make sure the pair would stick, I called my home and the number that last called me showed up on the screen as my outgoing call. I then called my house again and it showed the right number. I called another number and it showed the right number. Then I shut off the car, then turned it back on, then called another number, then called my house and the number that I called before my house showed up. I guess its just flaky with the on screen numbers, and who you actually calling.
Besides those issues, everything else was dreamy. The damn sound was more then great, and everyone else told me that I sounded perfect, like I was on my house phone even! I was even talking in a really low tone to make sure i didnt have to scream to be heard. Obvoiusly this was all incorporated into my converstation.
Anyway I am happy, for now. I hope they will come out with an update that will fix the issues, if not I will use it like this. I hope that I didnt ramble too much as I have been home sick for a week and almost done. too bad Im not supposed to go anywhere or I'd already be on the phone. The treo 650 is worth every penny.
