What is the TCU UNIT and what does it do?

Thanks for the reply.The dealer called me and told me when they try to install the new software 16.2 after 2 1/2hours it kicks out and they can't complete the install.They have to put in a new TCU UNIT.Again thanks for the reply

My dealer pulled 16.2 off the machines because it was corrupting data and destroying TCUs. I have 16.1 and it has all the enhancements and fixes.

I hope thats not the case with me.They are going to put in a new TCU UNIT tomorrow.

PS Bigart had 16.2 installed by the same dealer a few days ago and everthing went OK

I have a Jan. 04 build car...No bluetooth....is it possible for the dealer to replace the TCU in order to get bluetooth working?

Yes, it is, but quite expensive. Members have posted the cost of a new TCU at approx. $2000.
