Strange question about AUX input
Hi all,
New owner here of a 2008 535i. So far, so good, except... I bought a male-to-male 3.5mm audio cord to connect my iPhone 5. However, I am unable to insert the 3.5mm pin into the AUX input. It goes in about half way, but no more.
I can't tell if there's something jammed in there or if I simply need a BMW part. Looking at BMW specific adapter cords, they seem to have a 3.5mm end similar to the one I purchased.
Any thoughts on this? I feel like an idiot for asking this question, I'm very mechanically savvy, but I just don't get it :/
Thanks in advance!

The AUX connector in the glove compartment is 3.5mm so your cable is correct. I assume that the socket is actually physically 3.5mm.
Try to check if there is no foreign object inside the AUX socket. Sometimes, the 3.5mm connector looses its top part and this part remains inside the round socket and disallows insertion of another 3.5mm connector.
