Ya but is it really worth it with all the apps Apple has for this phone.

It fixed nearly 1/2 of the issues the OP had listed.
I'd say it's worth it.

Ahhh ... but please clarify ... which of these below relies on a Jailbreak??? Almost all?

See additional comments below marked ----->

3. Wi-Fi. OK! The Storm does not have Wi-Fi at all ... and is the reason why I chose the iPhone. Yes, the iPhone has Wi-Fi. Yes, you can use it to browse the net and save on download costs if you're in a Wi-Fi area. But, that's where the joy ends. I connect to my home and office Wi-Fi networks daily. BUT, you cannot see other devices such as PCs, notebooks, printers, etc. on the Wi-Fi network and those devices cannot see the iPhone. The iPhone simply uses the Wi-Fi network as an internet gateway. So, you cannot use Wi-Fi to transfer files to and from your iPhone either. You cannot print an email or webpage, sms, or anything else. To me, the Wi-Fi is half-baked and doesn't do what I want;

--> You can SSH into your phone and drag & drop files as you please
-----> Need the jailbreak?

5. Touch screen. The Storm has a tactile touch screen, which I found compelling when I tested it. It feels like you've pressed a button. The iPhone doesn't have that. Whilst we are on the subject, these devices don't work like the old HP Pocket Computers, which use a small pen-like pointer. They ignore inorganic contact. So don't try tapping the screen with your pen. This is handy if the device is in your pocket with your keys or sunglasses ... no accidental key presses ... BUT .... my wife likes to use her fingernail to tap the keyboard ... won't work;

--> One of the most responsive touch screens I've ever used.
-----> I'm just pointing out how it works ... and that it's not tactile like the Storm.

10. Video. No video recording at all on the iPhone. The Storm has video recording;

--> Cycorder.app for the win
-----> I'm sure this needs the Jailbreak?!

12. "Cut and Paste", did I here you say? ... in relation to point 11 above? Sorry, iPhone does not support cut and paste. Nope, you can't even copy a number from your address book to send in a message. You have to memorise it, switch to your messaging screen, and type it in. Mac invented cut'n'paste ... why the hell did they leave it out of the iPhone? Storm has cut and paste tools;

--> Clippy.app
-----> Jailbreak?

16. Office documents. There is no way to work with MS Office documents in the iPhone. Storm takes care of this with its built-in "To Go" software. You can edit Word, Powerpoint and Excel files;

--> I can only view the files, so I'll agree with you here.

18. Games. If you want to play games get an iPhone. If you own an E60 you shouldn't be playing games ... you should be out driving. Get a Storm;

--> I have the NES emulator, wonderful little app for flights.

20. Sharing Music. You can only sync your iPhone with ONE PC at a time. If you attempt to sync with your friend's PC all your music files will be deleted. That's right, deleted. iPhone does this to help prevent piracy. There is no way around it. With the Storm you just drag and drop music as you please;

--> There's a program called Tensee iPhone copy. It allows you to "backup" all the music currently on your phone.
-----> But do you need to jailbreak first?

21. FM Radio. iPhone doesn't have one ... Storm does!

--> Who needs FM? This is the digital age. AOL Radio, and a few other apps bring satellite quality radio to your iPhone.
-----> That's a VERY Apple answer! Where do you work? AOL Radio, and others like it, require the iPhone to be within cell coverage or Wi-Fi ... so you need a separate radio when you don't have coverage.

23. Web browser. iPhone's Safari web browser does not support Java or Flash. This means I can't properly display any webpage that relies on either of these plug-ins. For example, I cannot display the weather satelite or weather radar. I can't get up-to-date stock market information. I don't know about the Storm;

--> I get up to date stock market information. There's a few apps in the store for free that are very good. One is iStockManager (or something like that). And as far as radar goes, the weather channel app works well.
-----> Only with specific apps. It won't work with any old internet site.

24. Applications. iPhone apps must all come from the iStore ... through the iTunes software. Storm software can be bought directly from 3rd party vendors on line;

--> I believe you forgot about Cydia and Installer as well.
-----> Nope ... but don't you need the Jailbreak to install software from these sites?

25. Starting-Up. You'll love this one ... to start the iPhone when you buy it you must: 1. Have a PC. 2. Be connected to the internet. 3. Install the iTunes software on the PC. 4. Connect the iPhone to iTunes and be connected to the internet ... all that before you can turn the damn thing on!!!! So, if you can't do that yourself or don't have the internet or a PC at home, you will need your retailer to set up your phone for you. No such dramas with the Storm;

--> Advantage of this, you're good to go as you leave the store. If you do bork it up, you can make your own firmware that's already activated when you flash it.
-----> Disagree with you here. You SHOULD be good to go with every phone. The iPhone is the only one where you are screwed if you can't follow the steps outlined above.

31. MMS. Not available on iPhone. No video camera, remember? You can't even receive a MMS from someone else. Don't know about the Storm;

--> I use MMS on my iPhone3g. The App is called SwirlyMMS (tho, it took about a day to get it setup properly). But I love it now.
-----> Jailbreak again?

33. You cannot use your iPhone as a wireless modem for your notebook. Storm supports this, I believe;

--> App called iPhone Modem
-----> Jailbreak again?

34. You cannot set your personal songs as ringtones on an iPhone. There is a hack to convert a mp3 to a ringtone on your PC and you'll find out how by searching YouTube. BUT, the ringtone is limited to a maximum length of 30 seconds. I don't know about the Storm;

--> I use the hack, no need for a 3 minute ringtone...but I see your point.

37. Documents. You can't save a document onto your iPhone. Even if you send a document or file via email, you cannot save it onto the iPhone. Storm doesn't have this limitation;

--> There's an extension for Safari that allows you to save files. I have to go find the name again.
-----> My point ... you've got to go hunting for this ... and ... it may require the Jailbreak, no?!

38. Voice Dialing. iPhone doesn't support it. Don't expect to use your dialing commands on your e60, although the "dial number" command will work. I don't know about Storm;

--> There's an app for this as well. Tho, I personally didn't like it. Point taken
-----> Is the app "Say Who"? If so, it is pretty lame. Further, it is not compatible with the voice button on your BMW steering wheel ... and ... this IS the E60 forum!

39. File Browser / Organiser. iPhone doesn't have one. Storm does;

--> None that comes with it, but you can download it.
-----> Again, I think you need to Jailbreak, right?

40. Mobile Data. iPhone uses old technology which is really 2.5G, called EDGE. I'm not sure about the Storm;

--> iPhone uses 2g, iPhone3g uses....3g?
-----> OK ... it's only what I've been told. Apparently Nokia and Blackberry are using better technology. EDGE is reportedly old technology ... but it works. I'm being picky.

41. Sleepy Phone. Our two iPhones go to sleep after about 30 minutes ... when you call them they don't ring. So, after 2 or 3 hours of inactivity, you might find you've got several missed calls you swear you never heard ... and you didn't. Not sure about the Storm;

--> What firmware are you running?
-----> 2.2 - We have two phones ... both do the same thing. I'm wondering if it is carrier related?

42. Blank screen. When you make a call on the iPhone the screen goes blank. Maybe they figure the phone is up at your ear and they want to save power. It is very annoying when you need to look something up while you're on the phone. I find myself often shaking the phone like a bottle of OJ. I'm now starting to shake the home phone and the TV remote as well. I bet the Storm doesn't have this problem;

--> See above reply.
-----> Nope ... according to Apple (I put in a service call) this is a feature. The screen goes blank a few seconds after the call is initiated. They (Apple) presume you are putting the phone to your ear and don't need the screen, so they turn it off to save power.

43. Blank screen (2). You can't change the length of time before the screen goes blank on an iPhone. There is simply no option for this. Storm is configurable.

--> I thought you could set it in the settings.app.
-----> Yup, you did. But that is for the global screen blank out ... 1, 2, or 5 minutes .. I think. It does not control the blank out time for phone calls.

My Rebuttal. I'm not trying to be intrusive, but I'd like everyone to have both sides of the story.

For all its worth, I've received a bit of flack over this thread. Apparently I'm just mad and all my woes will go away if I jailbreak the phone.

For the record, all my points stand, and I'll add another!

44. To make your iPhone work NEARLY as well as a Blackberry Storm, you will need to Jailbreak it. Jailbreaking involves using one of several software applications available to hack into the phone's operating system and release features that Apple has blocked. The latest firmware update, 2.2.1, apparently blocks the ability to Jailbreak. So, new purchasers will have to find a hack to downgrade to 2.2 before they can use the hack to jailbreak their phone. Google "iPhone Firmware 2.2.1" for details. Google "why jailbreak iPhone" for reasons why people do it. You should also Google "5 reasons why you shouldn't jailbreak your iphone" ... to find out why you shouldn't do it! My final note on the point of jailbreaking is this: I run a business. I work. My life is too full to go messing around with things like a jailbreak. You shouldn't have to "break" something to make it work. It's like smashing the side windows of your car to let the air in!!! I bought these phones after being promised the world. The iPhone is my first, and last, Apple experience.

Cheers,

virgil

Clearly the iPhone does not fill your needs. For many, myself included, it does. As for working as well as a BB, like any tool it depends what you need from it. For the simple delivery and sending of emails, it works great. I'm sorry your experience was not a good one but your posts come across as an angry rant as opposed simply saying it does not meet my needs. Frankly my old BB was awful as a phone so I was forced to carry a phone and a BB. No device is perfect. When you can, make the switch back to the BB. No one will hold that against you...

The place where I work has a large IT department - and they will only allow us to have phones that our server can reliably push our emails/appointments/contacts to. Our IT folks will not approve the Storm yet because it is still prone to the types of problems the original iPhone had. The new iPhones work fine as most of the bugs have been worked out. I assume the bugs with the Storm will be worked out at some point as well.

Allow me add my comments to each point you make, as i think you are in serious error and might also transmit that error to others

1. 3G Video calling. Not available on the iPhone, even on a 3G network. I'm not sure about the Storm;
True! iPhone 3g was never about video-calling. In fact you should have noticed that before you bought it since video-calling requires another camera in the front.

2. Bluetooth functionality. iPhone is limited to headset and car kit. Connect it to your PC and you CANNOT drag and drop files onto the device. 16GB of storage CANNOT be used to transfer files from your PC. You can do these things on the Storm;
Partial correct. You are limited with Bluetooth but for most people that's not an issue. The thing that is incorrect is the file transfer ability. YOU CAN transfer files from and to the iphone if you buy specific apps from the App Store. Air Sharing is just one of the examples.

3. Wi-Fi. OK! The Storm does not have Wi-Fi at all ... and is the reason why I chose the iPhone. Yes, the iPhone has Wi-Fi. Yes, you can use it to browse the net and save on download costs if you're in a Wi-Fi area. But, that's where the joy ends. I connect to my home and office Wi-Fi networks daily. BUT, you cannot see other devices such as PCs, notebooks, printers, etc. on the Wi-Fi network and those devices cannot see the iPhone. The iPhone simply uses the Wi-Fi network as an internet gateway. So, you cannot use Wi-Fi to transfer files to and from your iPhone either. You cannot print an email or webpage, sms, or anything else. To me, the Wi-Fi is half-baked and doesn't do what I want;

What you're asking for it a true PC/laptop ability. Not a phone ability. Show me a phone that can do all that what you said!!! Seeing other devices on the network requires serious coding to allow the iphone to speak with different machines be it windows (SM or CIFS or whatever machine. Printing is another issue since you need the printer driver to allow a device to properly print to. That's another titanic problem as it needs either pre-installed drivers for ALL the printers out there (which would probably take more than 16GB of space) or to allow installing a driver based on Repository and installation procedures (that requires alot of work). So we may want to travel to the moon with the iphone but that's not something so easy and realistically possible.

4. iTunes. Anything you want to do with your iPhone, such as transfer music, contacts, etc. must be done using the iTunes software. Storm does not have any similar limitation;

YOu see it as a limitation. Apple and I see it as a convenience. Using a single app to back up all the iphone, to transfer music, videos, ringtones, apps, podcasts, contacts, photos, etc etc... and manage all that is simply SIMPLER ! (intended)

5. Touch screen. The Storm has a tactile touch screen, which I found compelling when I tested it. It feels like you've pressed a button. The iPhone doesn't have that. Whilst we are on the subject, these devices don't work like the old HP Pocket Computers, which use a small pen-like pointer. They ignore inorganic contact. So don't try tapping the screen with your pen. This is handy if the device is in your pocket with your keys or sunglasses ... no accidental key presses ... BUT .... my wife likes to use her fingernail to tap the keyboard ... won't work;

Here you are correct. Iphone does require organic input. You could however use a stylus but you'd have to wrap it in something skin like and then give it a mild electric charge. But seriously, tell your wife to use the WHOLE fingers as that proves to type faster. Don't be afraid of using all the finger being afraid you'll hit a different key, as the iphone is smart and invisibly enlarges the keys that are more likely to form a word (database). Also when you get the hand of it you'll work with both hands and find yourself typing really fast. PLUS for more iphone users this touch screen is quintessential for their experience. It's that tactile feel and sense that you and the device can communicate directly. It's as you said an organic experience...dare i say it, with a machine.

6. Keyboard. The iPhone is a little better in this regard. Each key is magnified as you press it, above your finger so you can see which key you've pressed. If you hit the wrong key, simply drag your finger over the correct key before lifting it off the screen.
Correct! And there are many other things, i bet you don't know about the keyboard. The keyboard is really very smart.
7. Predictive text. The iPhone is a little better here too. If you type "ho" your first option in predictive text is "go", as if you've hit the wrong key. The Storm uses the old T9 style of predictive text, which assumes you want words beginning with "ho...";
No comment!
8. Camera. The iPhone has 2MP and no settings for brighness/contrast/colour, etc. The Storm has 3.1MP. I believe it has limited configurable settings;

Sorry but i've had even 5MP phone cameras like SE K850 and i tell people the exact same thing all the time: GET A DECENT HANDY-CAM. A handy-cam of 2 MP can make the best phone camera look like crap. I have a handy cam all the time with me. A Sony DSC N1 with 10.1 MP. A phone is a phone and not all of the electronics we want and we expect to even math them.

9. Flash. No flash on the iPhone. The Storm has a flash;

Correct but flash of the phones are CRAP. EVEN THE XENON FLASH OF SE. Why make the phone heavier and bigger with a flash? God damn! Use a handy-cam.

10. Video. No video recording at all on the iPhone. The Storm has video recording;

Correct! However i understood that there are some apps on the App Store that enable video recording. Also i know this for certain Jailbraking it will open video recording, though i keep my phone as it is.

11. SMS. The iPhone stores SMS as a conversation. This looks good on the screen ... BUT ... you can't forward a conversation or part thereof. You can't forward an SMS - you will have to retype and send as a new message. You can do this on a Storm, which adheres to the traditional messaging form;

That sort of complex text conversation is called EMAIL. I suggest you use it. However there is some workaround if you are eager to let someone see what you typed in a SMS. You can hit sleep+home button at the same time to catch a screen shot of the SMS and then forward it as an attachment in an email. On my other phones i have NEVER EVER dealt to much with SMSes. Let alone froward them or whatever.

12. "Cut and Paste", did I here you say? ... in relation to point 11 above? Sorry, iPhone does not support cut and paste. Nope, you can't even copy a number from your address book to send in a message. You have to memorise it, switch to your messaging screen, and type it in. Mac invented cut'n'paste ... why the hell did they leave it out of the iPhone? Storm has cut and paste tools;

Apple will soon bring this in a software update. You have to understand that Apple did the best job they could with the iphone. When they released it they wanted to make sure the functions available at that time WORK and not have to deal with complains about many functions that were supposed to work but don't. Such was the issue with Nokia N95 and N96. Loads of functions but if you use them accordingly the phone becomes very sluggish or freezes for a while or dies. Apple brought a device that took the world by surprise and now everybody is copying them.

13. Business cards. Thought sending a business card as a SMS might solve the problem above, did you? iPhone can't do it! Bummer! I haven't tested this with the Storm so some feedback from an owner would be helpful;

This is old tech. Why would you want to send a business card to somebody? If that's what you want then you can simply take a picture of it with the camera and send it by email and then that guy/girl can see it and scan it on a PC, MAC or phone. Unlike an SMS which is Phone limited. So...

14. Calendar. iPhone has a REALLY ANNOYING limitation with the calendar! It is unable to remember the date that a calender entry was added and does not account specifically for birthdays an anniversaries ... I can't comment on the Storm because I haven't tested this, either. BUT, if you use Outlook you can add calendar events specifically as anniversaries. Stick with me here. I'm 42, so I go back to 1966 on my Outlook Calendar and add my birthday in. On the appointed day, Outlook reminds me that its my brithday with my age in brackets. My old HP pocket computer synchronised perfectly with Outlook and displayed anniversaries the same way. So, when my nephew's birthday came around, the HP told me he was turning 7. iPhone can't do this;

While i haven't tried for such an approach simply because i can remember the age of the people that surround me. However i indeed entered some birthdays as i find those easy to forget. For that i made a Calendar entry with yearly repetition and named it XXXXXX Birthday! It's that simple. If your anal about it you can use a Mac that syncs with your iphone and create custom built categories, which you can name "Anniversaries" with specific rules. Then you just create the event and simply drag and drop it to the category created. It automatically stores it as an Anniversary and at the next time you plug i you iphone it syncs it. Or if you have Mobile Me it syncs virtually instantly regardless where you are on the Planet Earth.

15. Invitations. If you normally coordinate meetings with invitations that automatically update your Calendar, as Outlook does, then you're out of luck with the iPhone. It is not supported. This feature IS available on the Storm;

This i don't understand. What exactly do you want your phone to do?

16. Office documents. There is no way to work with MS Office documents in the iPhone. Storm takes care of this with its built-in "To Go" software. You can edit Word, Powerpoint and Excel files;

There are apps and tweaks for this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJDnQ4DAY3s

You have to understand that the power of the Iphone comes from the OSX based core and the ability to choose and use from over 15000 apps.

17. Applications. iPhone has more applications available, but they're not really business orientated. There are useful things like scientific calculators, iTranslate is a good one, weights and measures convertion, etc. There are a lot of trade specific apps. For example, there is one that tells you the resistance of a resistor by putting in the colour code. Things like that. These are optional downloads and I don't use them. Storm software is a little thinner on the ground, but what is out there is pretty solid;

What exactly do you search for? What kind of business oriented app you want?? I ask this as i think there are tons of business apps.

18. Games. If you want to play games get an iPhone. If you own an E60 you shouldn't be playing games ... you should be out driving. Get a Storm;

I'm sorry this is a stupid remark! I'll just ignore it!

19. Music. All music you want on your iPhone has to go through the iTunes software. You must either buy the music on iTunes or synchronise with the mp3 files on your PC (also through iTunes). With the Storm you just drag and drop;

You are in error or simply you want to bash the iphone. What's the difference between drag and drop in itunes (which syncs automatically) and drag and drop in the Storm? And since we talk about music i don't think you got to experience the genius function of the itunes/iphone that automatically creates a stack of songs that belong together based on their BPMs and names, so that you can any time select from the iphone a list of songs based on your mood.

20. Sharing Music. You can only sync your iPhone with ONE PC at a time. If you attempt to sync with your friend's PC all your music files will be deleted. That's right, deleted. iPhone does this to help prevent piracy. There is no way around it. With the Storm you just drag and drop music as you please;

Again you are in error! There IS a way around it. It's called either jail-braking, or buy a freaking app that connects to the wireless and allow transfer of files. YES it's that easy.

21. FM Radio. iPhone doesn't have one ... Storm does!

The iphone has one too, and even better. Since using regular FM receiver is quite painfull since it's very limited on the strength of the signal, and the area of broadcast, iphone app developers came up with plenty of apps that connect to the net and let you listen to thousands and literally thousands of radio stations sorted across plenty of filters, including regional stations. I wonder if Sorm has something like this!?

22. Music Via Bluetooth. iPhone does not support it. Why can't I play the music on my iPhone through Bluetooth in my car? Seems like something most of us would want to do!!! I don't know about the Storm;

Correct! You can't! However i don't think this will be possible very soon, unless bluetooth technology rockets sky high. Since music and thus songs can have a data footprint very high, and an average mp3 of 4 minutes or so can occupy between 3-4MB to 8-9MB depending on quality that would require a continuos and steady flow of data exchange via bluetooth, and a certain speed. I don;t think bluetooth can provide that.

23. Web browser. iPhone's Safari web browser does not support Java or Flash. This means I can't properly display any webpage that relies on either of these plug-ins. For example, I cannot display the weather satelite or weather radar. I can't get up-to-date stock market information. I don't know about the Storm;

"forums.macrumors.com ? Contrary to earlier reports the iPhone does support Flash and Java according to a German publication. This could open the door for a multitude of iPhone web-based services"
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php...293#post3238293

24. Applications. iPhone apps must all come from the iStore ... through the iTunes software. Storm software can be bought directly from 3rd party vendors on line;

What oyu don't know is that apps from the App Store are most of them if not all, third party made, and are available on App Store because simply they respect some basic Apple rules. One of them even broke some Apple agreements, and that's Google.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/11/26/g...o_n_146660.html

If you'r really anal about apps then you can jailbreak the iphone and virtually install any app you want. You can even use terminals as in linux to manage your iphone.

25. Starting-Up. You'll love this one ... to start the iPhone when you buy it you must: 1. Have a PC. 2. Be connected to the internet. 3. Install the iTunes software on the PC. 4. Connect the iPhone to iTunes and be connected to the internet ... all that before you can turn the damn thing on!!!! So, if you can't do that yourself or don't have the internet or a PC at home, you will need your retailer to set up your phone for you. No such dramas with the Storm;

Well i don't know anything regarding the first part. I don't know what you are talking about. Still it's true that the iphone has to be "started" by the vendor but that's because iphone is not available for any vendor out there AND IT takes like 30 seconds. O think this is cool as Apple can more easily rely only on certain vendors that meet their expectations about their device.

26. Notes and To-Do lists. You CANNOT sync these with the iPhone. Storm does;

Correct! I think this will be addressed in a way. Just out of curiosity how does Storm sync the notes and to-dos? With what app on the pc/mac?

27. Stereo Bluetooth. The iPhone Bluetooth is not stereo - that is something that you would only expect from the world's leading portable music player manufacturer ... oh ... wait .... I see .... I don't know if the Storm is stereo;

28. Speaker volume. Storm is louder and clearer;

If you say so...

29. Sync with Mac. Storm WILL NOT sync with a Mac unless you have additional software;

That's why an iphone is better.

30. Battery. You cannot remove the battery on an iPhone. You just can't! No screw, no nothing. When the battery dies the iPhone goes too. Apparently, you are supposed to take it back to an Apple Store ... not just any phone retailer. I don't know about the Storm;

The iphone's battery can be used in full capacity for 400 recharges. That's 400x2days = 800 days. I've put on average a recharge at 2 days because it depends on how much you use it. I recharged it on 3 days basis and rarely even on 4 days. Anyway you get like that more than 2 years worth of FULL battery life. After that the battery will start to fade away, but not like tomorrow. Thus you can safely use the device for about 3 years, case in which i say Jesus!! How long do you plan on using a phone? I find myself swapping phones almost yearly and NOT because of battery.

31. MMS. Not available on iPhone. No video camera, remember? You can't even receive a MMS from someone else. Don't know about the Storm;

Correct! Never bothered though! Never want it really. I have email.

32. External Storage Device. The Storm can be used as an external storage device. The iPhone can't - even with the cables connected;

Like an external HDD? If yes, then i hate to break your heart but the iphone CAN be used as an external storage device. And you don't even have to have cables around. You just connect it to Wifi and mount as a network drive in windows or connect to server on Mac. It's that simple! Get it?

33. You cannot use your iPhone as a wireless modem for your notebook. Storm supports this, I believe;

This is true! As for me i don't even use my Vodafone 7.2 MBP USB stick that much to even bother using the iphone as a modem. And that Vodafone USB modem is in the 3G+ speed band.

34. You cannot set your personal songs as ringtones on an iPhone. There is a hack to convert a mp3 to a ringtone on your PC and you'll find out how by searching YouTube. BUT, the ringtone is limited to a maximum length of 30 seconds. I don't know about the Storm;

About the length of the ringtone i don't know. It may be true, but i never needed more than 15 seconds for a ringtone. I mean Damn! How much do you intend of letting the phone ring before going into a loop? 3 hours? I think you're just picky.

As for use of personal songs as ringtones: IT IS POSSIBLE. While i don't know exactly how on a PC, on a Mac you can send the mp3 to Garageband, select the part of it, really easy, that you want to use as ringtone, press the loop button and then click export---> send to itunes as ringtone. That's it! It then syncs with the iphone.

35. Email pictures. You can only attach a single picture to each email you send from an iPhone. The work-around is to use a browser based email client such as Hotmail or Yahoo. Storm supports multiple attachments;

Didn't notice this until now! So this is true but i think Apple did not overlook this aspect. While an image can occupy quite alot of space, it's easier to select the photo(s) you want, send them to Mobile Me, and then simply announce your friend to visit your mobile me gallery. There he can see/download you pics and so you won't have to worry if his mailbox is able to receive 50 photos at once.

36. Email other attachments. You can't attach any other files to an iPhone email because you can't put any other files onto your iPhone. Storm doesn't have this problem;

As i mentioned before, you can put other files onto the iphone. Also, i think, if the phone is jailbroken you can send them by email. For sure we will have a legitimate app that will allow this.

37. Documents. You can't save a document onto your iPhone. Even if you send a document or file via email, you cannot save it onto the iPhone. Storm doesn't have this limitation;

YOU CAN save them. In fact once the email arrives in you phone, the documents are automatically stored. To prove this you can send an email with attachments, and have iphone fetch it. Once it is fetched (in the iphone) turn airplane mode on. You'll see that the wireless and carrier are disabled. Then go to mail, skip the warning, and then enter the email and open the document. You'll see that the document opens. Case in which i ask you how did the document open if it wasn't stored in the iphone, and without connection to wifi or carrier?!?!

38. Voice Dialing. iPhone doesn't support it. Don't expect to use your dialing commands on your e60, although the "dial number" command will work. I don't know about Storm;

This is true! I think! Couldn't care less though, since voice dialing only works, obviously in English and mostly with English names. Voice dialing "Andrei" (my name) on my SE returns bogus dial name.

39. File Browser / Organiser. iPhone doesn't have one. Storm does;

Yes it does. It's called...iphone. Get it? Photos are in photos, music is in ipod, documents are in apps and email, videos are in ipod and so on...

But if you're anal you can jailbrake it, and then install whatever file browser/organiser you want or even browse though the iphone internals by terminal.

40. Mobile Data. iPhone uses old technology which is really 2.5G, called EDGE. I'm not sure about the Storm;

2.5 G? Iphone uses 3g man! Don't sweat

41. Sleepy Phone. Our two iPhones go to sleep after about 30 minutes ... when you call them they don't ring. So, after 2 or 3 hours of inactivity, you might find you've got several missed calls you swear you never heard ... and you didn't. Not sure about the Storm;

Oh sorry man but i think this is such a pile of BS !!! Either you don't know how to use/set-up your phone or you've got two bad iphones (which i hardly believe).

42. Blank screen. When you make a call on the iPhone the screen goes blank. Maybe they figure the phone is up at your ear and they want to save power. It is very annoying when you need to look something up while you're on the phone. I find myself often shaking the phone like a bottle of OJ. I'm now starting to shake the home phone and the TV remote as well. I bet the Storm doesn't have this problem;

Another pile of crap. The iphone has a very good frontal sensor (situated near your earpice) and it detects right away when you took the phone away from the ear or dark spot, and lits the screen accordingly. Either you have mud on the phone or you don't know how to use it. RTFM !! Or go to Apple to "fix" it/you

43. Blank screen (2). You can't change the length of time before the screen goes blank on an iPhone. There is simply no option for this. Storm is configurable.

yes you can man! Stop with the BS! You can find it in Settings-->General--->Auto-Lock.

That's all I can think of for now.
IMHO you should stop thinking so much and start reading the manual. It's a good start. Then you should start reading in depth literature about the device. Just my 02. Then you can be assertive about the device.

Cheers
