Apologies if this has been asked before but is there any way to view your txt messages using the bluetooth car kit and iDrive.

No there is no way to see SMS messages.. I think it is strange because the I-Drive is perfect to read or write SMS text messages..

If you have a bmw professional phone you can read the messages (I think).

Yep.
But you can only write them on the handset, not thru idrive.
