Hi everyone,
I see that many of you have a signal strength indicator of the BT telephone right beside the indicator of the blue tooth connection on the bottom of the screen in your car.
I have an 06-2004 E61 with PRO NAV, CIP 20 and the original blue tooth carkit. The phone I am using, also via the cradle is a Nokia 6230i.
However I only see on the screen that my phone is connected (and working fine), but I do not see the quality of the signal being received. On my phone itself it is vissible.
Does anybody know if you can switch it on yourself or has this something to do with the blue tooth card and/or the version of the software. I must admit that also in my previous software versions I did not have it indicated, nor with other BT phone's.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Rob

Pretty sure it has to do with the phone. I have a Motorola v710 and don't see the signal strength on my idrive screen either. I have heard that if I update my phone to the latest software it will transmit the signal meter via bluetooth.
There is not a setting on the car that will enable this.

Hi, little bit offtopic:
My 6230i doesn't work with my E61. I've already started this topic:
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=25221
But nobody replies to it.
I see Rob has an E61 and a Nokia 6230i too. How did you get them work together? Did you have to press "activate" on the Nokia, when you paired? Cause my phone&car are paired, but the car doesn't activate the connection. I don't have a snap-in adapter. I've tried anything, but nothing works.
And which firmware on the nokia do you have? I have 03.70, which isn't listed on this site:

Tnx, but you have a 6230 and not the 6230i.
According to this site:

You have firmware 5.34 and 5.35 is officially supported by BMW. So there is a very big chance you're phone is compatible.
But I've got a 6230i with firmware 03.70. This one's not officially supported. And my E61 is built before march 2006.

I didn't realize there was such a great difference between the 6230 and 6230i. For what it's worth, my car was built in March 2004 (but the TCU crashed during a software update so I may have the newer TCU...
