My E60 2008 model works flawlessly with my SGS2. I've never had a single issue with it. My SGS2 uses the stock 2.3.3 Android (that's what came on the device when I purchased it). not sure how to retrieve the version number of my iDrive system but I've not had it updated since I purchased the vehicle. Possibly it's down to the car's Bluetooth software version within the iDrive software? An iDrive update might be cheaper than buying a carphone cradle. Also, if the problem is down to the car's Bluetooth software, then you may have to buy another carphone cradle when/if you change your phone again so better to update the root cause of the problem.

Good luck with it all.

Since I started this thread I thought I'd report back. SGII is working fine with my 05 E60. I did have difficulty on the first attempt, but I think that was either because I was in the office basement carpark with no service and the phone was busy trying to connect to my telco or because of the 500+ contacts on my phone. Either way, when I tried it that evening in the garage at home there were no problems. I use a 5 digit passcode.

Also, after warranty service my phone refused to pair. I had to delete the connection and redo.

Cheers
