Hi guys, I'm changing from HTC TyTnII to Nokia E66 then now to Nokia N96. I didn't have any problem connecting the previous 2 phones with my car in the past but I'm really having problem with the N96. First, connection is very inconsistent, it keeps on connect and disconnect by itself and second, the phonebook can't be sync with iDrive. Anyone have an idea what I did wrong?

The N96 was announced at the Mobile World Congress (in Barcelona) September of this year. Soon there after, most European, Middle Eastern and Asia Pacific markets got the phones. The U.K. release date is October 1st 2008, and North America should already have the phones. If the N96 isn't already on your mobile phone shop shelves, there probably are gray market versions imported from other regions floating around.
Well said. I got mine from Asia last week. I don't think NA will have it anytime soon. But there's a replica version made in China which you can get on the ebay for less than $200.

It's so wierd. I know Symbian phones don't work well with our BMW BT. But my last phone, Nokia E66, which is also Symbian, works perfectly with the car in terms of connections and phonebooks and that's why I was optimistic about the N96. The problem I have with the N96 now is so annoying as it will disconnect from the car even when during calls.

Did you ever manage to get this fixed ? I have been trying to pair my N96 with my 525i for three days now without success. I get all the way to entering the passcode on both the phone and the car but the pairing just fails.
