I have had Bluetooth sound quality problems since day 1, especially the sound quality for the other call party (i.e. person I'm calling from the car or who's called me), usually times speech is almost impossible to hear, even at low speeds with very low noise levels in the cabin.

My car recently had its first oil service and a software update, plus I asked them to check out the phone call quality. The dealership used my own phone (with their SIM card), updated the software to V19 and also confirmed that I already had "the more recent of two microphones" in my car. They claimed to have made a call from the car and found the sound OK.

Has anyone else had sound quality problems that they've managed to resolve with their dealer, and what actions were taken or parts replaced? Should I press the dealer to replace the mic anyway? I'm read the tips about adjusting phone volume etc but this makes little difference for me. I don't feel good about having paid around ?600 extra for Bluetooth when quality is almost unusable

Thanks for any thoughts or experiences on this!

I have same problem... sound quality of my voice (when I speak)

They gave me a software upgrade (26.10.2005) and they did't tell me wich version.

Now the bluetooth doesn't work at all

My 6310i is fine through bluetooth. Had a software update around July - not sure exactly which version - made no difference to bluetooth or phone quality.

My former E60 also had poor quality with bluetooth phone (also nokia 6310i). During my stay on this forum there is no one (that I read of) that solved this issue with software upgrades.

I also had the mic replaced, it became a little better, tried several phones, several settings, several phones (different nokia's, siemens, razr v3). The quality remained poor. In my opinion the only solution is the replacement of the central unit for the phone. When I had that one replaced the quality became better.

I think your dealer tried the phone in the garage? Not on the highway, because in my experience the sound quality became poorer above 60km/h. I had them testing the phone during a drive and I convinced them with that test drive that the quality was bad.

My new E60 has terrific sound quality, I now use the Nokia 6230i with cradle. I can do conference calling from the car perfectly, people hardly hear that I'm driving.

In my opinion you should ask for a unit replacement.

Bye,

Eric
