What I find with my car/phone is that if I press the START button a few times (acc, Igniton) on & off, the pairing with my motorola will be lost... very weird.
This problem has been solved however, thanks to Rudy's tip in the 'Cool tricks' thread about pressing and holding the Start button to turn off the car & radio in one shot.

Luckily I found Rudy's tip on holding the button before I ventured into pairing a phone! As I said, the phone works great as long as the time between restarts is short enough to keep the car from going into sleep mode. Sleep mode is where it becomes an issue. In reading around and based on Rudy's and Jonathan's comments, it seems likely the problem is with the phone. Whatever firmware Samsung is using just doesn't mesh with BMW's set-up.


Edit: By the way Iceman, Rudy, Lomag or Das; feel free to move this thread anytime now. I appreciate the extra time in the main forum so that some other folks might chime in!
