I have an 10/03 build 545i. I understand bimmernav has a bluetooth kit for $650 which will work with the car. Any idea what parts are involved? I understand the TCU (is this the same as ULF?) may need to be replaced, but I can't imagine it would be that cheap.

If I got the BTUM route, does it provide the exact same experience as replacing the TCU/ULF?

Thanks.

Hi,

You haven't said where in the world you are?

What do you have at the moment? All US E60's are pre-wired for BT.

The bimmernav kit includes the required ULF/TCU.

The kit also includes the snap in holder go in the armrest, and the BT aerial.

I'm pretty sure the BTUM solution works the same as the native BT solution so you might want to look into the costs associated with the BTUM before making a final decision...

Sorry, mate. I'm in California, US. Looking at the 2 solutions (BTUM or BimmerNav), they appear to be about the same price (when you consider the BTUM needs the cradles too). Just wondering if anyone could offer the opinion of either.

My car is a 10/03 build 545i. I understand the TCU/ULF supports assist, but not bluetooth for this build date. It seems inevitable that which ever kit I got with I have to get some dealer computer work done (queue the darth vader music).

Thanks,

Eric
