Anyone know if the new Nokia 8801 (US) and 8800 (Rest of World) is compatible with our e60's?

FYI... I just helped hollywoodtrash today pair his Nokia 8801 with his 2007 550i. It wasn't quite as easy as a Motorola, but it worked nontheless. All the features were there: Address book, misses call, received calls, etc...

So you have not upgraded your SW yet? With hollywood's 07 550i, he and I both had problems initially trying to pair the phone to the car. I'm not certain what his SW version is. He took delivery of his car two weeks ago.

After playing around with his 8801 for a few minutes and understanding its features, I attempted to pair the phone one more time. Try to find ANY feature that will attempt to find a device regardless if it says "bluetooth" or not. I found it on the 8801 with the comment "audio device." Once I chose this selection, the phone found the car.

After finding the car, the 8801 asked for a passkey which I entered "1,2,3,4,5,6." The car then asked about pairing to the phone. I entered the passkey "1,2,3,4,5,6" into the car and pull down on the iDrive knob to finalize the passkey. Both devices then recognized one another and we tested the pairing out.

Thanks a lot of that Jiio.

To make sure it works with the 8800/8801

Go to Settings menu

Turn bluetooth on

Then go to Search fo Audio Enhancements

It should locate the BMW and do your passkeys

You are all set

I think everybody can do this. However the fun starts with most people when you turn your engine off or leave the vicinity of the car. The problem is it will re-attach to the bluetooth, but it wont let you make or receive calls it just jams
