I have a Nokia 6230i with the latest firmware, but when I connect, I get the full phone book briefly, and then it reverts to ABC only. Even at that, some of the ABC numbers are missing. Ocassionally the full alphabet stays on. BMW have checked the software and it is current. Has anyone else experienced this or discovered how to overcome.

You need to have your numbers on the sim card for it to work with the 6230i.

HI.. I use a nokia 6230i in the snap in adapter and a 6500c in my pocket.. using dual sim card.. both phones connect (not at the same time) very well and all the default numbers appear but not multiple numbers per name. all my phone book is stored on the phone and not the sim card.. all works pretty well.. my only problem is that using a dual sim, the reception does not automatically switch to the car phone when i get into the car.. so i end up having my pocket phone ringing rather than the 6230i that is in the snap in adapter.. the 6230i has an option in settings/enhancements/ignition detector/off or on. this basically means that the phone goes off when the ignition is switched off and goes on when the ignition in switched on.. this should allow reception to move from the pocket phone to the one in the snap in adapter.. but for some reason, the phone is not switching off when the ignition is off.. so i tend to get a lot of missed calls on my car phone.. best solution i came up to is to rely only on the pocket phone connected via blue tooth and forget about the one in the car adapter.. sorry for the long message.. hope it assures you that the 6230i actually can get only the default numbers on the car screen.. cheers..
