What's up with the new TCU discussions lately?? I don't get it???

Why do people want or need a new TCU?? What is a TCU?? Do cars with NAV have one?
The TCU is required for use of a bluetooth phone in the car. Cars produced smetime prior to mid Marc 04 have a TCU that will not work with a bluetooth wireless phone. If your TCU is incomaptible, you need to use a BMW/Motorola CPT 9000 phone or replace the TCU.

People are unhappy because the cars were to be BT compatible from the start. Many of us have had to repalce the TCU at our cost to get the BT feature in the cars to work.
