Hi. Everything is working OK with my Nokia 6230 i, except that only the first number stored on the phone is displayed on the I-drive screen. If I syncronize a SE telephone, or even my new HP IPAQ ALL numbers stored for each person (job, home and so on) comes up. Do'es anyone know if there is a new software version for my phone (the present version is 3.30), that can solve the problem ??

All the best

Peter

Is the number showing up stored on the phone or on the SIM? My 6230 works fine as long as the numbers are stored in the SIM...

Phonebook. If You save it on the SIM ard You can only saven one number, so thats not a solution

Well if you save multiple entries to the SIM card, like "Peter home", "Peter cell", "Peter work" then it is a solution. Phones that store multiple numbers for a single entry end up displaying them on iDrive the same way I described in the last sentence so there's really no difference in how it looks on the car...

I see your point Rudy, but then there is no reason to save it on the SIM card, I could do the same in the phonebook.

I know for sure that a SE mobilphone, and also my IPAQ 6915, works, and was just curius if there was a Nokia 6230 solution, because I have a lot of multiple entries in that phone...

I understand what you're saying but all I can say is if you want to see all entries on the 6230i, then you'll have to store them on the SIM. Usually, there is a copy function that would allow you to copy entries from the phone to the SIM so it shouldn't be a huge problem for you. If you're planning on waiting until Nokia releases a software fix (I don't think one exists now) you'll likely be waiting an awful long time...

Hi Rudy. Sorry to say: but you are wrong. There is no reason to store it on the SIM. Numbers stored in the phonebook are also displayed on the i-drive screen, but only the first number. So Your "workaround" with storing "Peter Job", "Peter Home" can as well be used by using the phonebook. (as I actually are doing as Nokia can't get to work as SE and HP)

If you're able to transfer entries stored on the phone (even just the first one) then sure, you could do it either way. I thought the 6230 only transferred the SIM entries so the workaround made sense. The only real reason to store them on the phone would be to take advantage of the multiple entries, right?

That's right. On my 6230i using the phonebook I saved all, (what could been one name with multiple no.s), numbers seperately. So Peter work, Peter Cell, Peter Home and so on...a waste really, but still OK since I can have it all showing on the idrive - that's the priority for me.
