When I first got my iPhone, I was asked about if I liked it while flying from SF to LA. I told her I came from Verizon (the best carrier, bar none) and found the call quality unacceptable. She listened intently and suggested that maybe it's the iPhone and not the carrier. If I recall, one of her explanations: it was Apple's first attempt at manufacturing a phone. I thought it rather strange that she was deflecting all blame from AT&T. After awhile, she revealed to me that she works for AT&T.
