I have read some of the ongoing problems experienced with the Motorola RAZR phone, but have not heard of anyone using the V551 phone. Any thoughts?

I think both of them are using the same shitty software  .

... I do love my V3, but if you want it, just take drive down the I-95 south to miami and maybe you'll find it in the bushes on the side of the road..

U must not have done a search. May rank in the top 3 as far as number used here on the forum. Most report no issues, one of the older compatible phones.

Go to "My Controls" and feel ur way around there. Gets a little tricky if you want to do color and bolding, but u can figure it out.

Also good to put in a location - at least the country. Easier to supply a more accurate answer as there are certainly differences in cars and the adjunct systems such as radio, tv and bluetooth systems within the various countries.

I think Gadgets' V3 is the new black model. He reports some broken stuff that had been working with his older V600 which for all intents and purposes is the same guts found in the V3. Perhaps the newer code in the new black version has caused some incompatibilities that owners of the silver V3 aren't experiencing?

I have a silver V3 and I have Gadgets' #1 problem on rare occasions. It's the one where a call disconnect isn't handled properly and the car and phone get out of whack. There's a fix coming for this per an SIB.

I had the silver one before and had the same problems.. I originally switched from my MPX220 which I loved because of the incompatibility with the car.

I have to admit I am a 'heavy cellphone user' and hence I experience problems more often. - I do however expect the system to work fluently rather than cause me aggravation every time I use it.

I love my car and have to admit that I do not have ANY (knock on wood) of the problems mentioned on this forum (RF tire noise, Windshield noise, Bugs in tail light (hehe..), Active steering problems etc. etc.), I love the iDrive system as well, but the cellphone issue and the iDrive's slow speed are driving me nuts.
