Got mine yesterday - Connected 1st time, phonebook transferred automatically, works perfectly and also displays the signal strength on dash display (which my nokia 6230i didnt !)
Have ordered a snap in adaptor to keep the charge and signal strong.

V3i should work without any problem because it is an upgraded version of V3 - higher resolution camera, memory card support, etc.

My V3 works from Day 1.
