I had old information then. They must have updated the MPT to recognize the e815. Sorry.

No apology to me is necessary. Things are changing so fast it's hard for anyone to keep up. I did have to download the most current version of the MPT for it to recognize my e815.

I have a Sony Ericson Sprint phone with Bluetooth and my wif complains that the audio via Bluetooth is low quality. The phone sounds fine when using as a handheld. I am thinking of changing to Verison and getting an E815.

Is the E815 voice quality via Bluetooth substantially better than other BT phones that you all have tried? Thanks!

It's the same as you described. Person on the other end also complains that BT sound intermittently, and handset sounds much better. I have E815.

I havent received the first complaint yet. I am not saying that the E815 is bug free..i am saying up to this moment *i loving it*. Pretty easy to pair it both with the car.

Not necessarily true. I was able to transfer all my contacts from Outlook to my E815 without doing any seem edits; just a cable and the Moto phone tools.
Verizon phone?

Yes.

One more piece of info:
The v710 is a Tri-mode phone, which means it does digital and analog(AMPS) connections.
The e815 is all digital.
AMPS is not really essential in most of the U.S. There are a few areas where roaming partners still operate AMPS networks but you might never travel into those areas

My is working already. I hacked last night I have full details to make the BT works between my pc and my phone. I can transfer...mp3, pictures...some claim that the modem part is working too. I need to try it. But I know I was able to enable DUN on mine.
[/quote]

Careful! Here's the scoop on DUN on the e815.

NOTE: Moto E815 users must first key ##DIALUP on their phone's keypad to enable the Dial-up Networking feature of the phone (This only needs to be done once, unless you do seem edits, then you need to do it again). This will allow EVDO connections with speeds up to 2Mbps (burstable) with typical speeds in the area of 400-700kbps (according to Verizon's FAQ )

NOTE: All information indicates using this service is against Verizon's Terms Of Service unless you subscribe to an additional Data Plan. As such, the risk of being billed additional fees applies or contract termination applies. So use at your own risk!!

Go to this site for great info on your phone.

DUN with the v710 uses Express Network 1xRTT(up to 144kps) which is permitted by Verizon
and just uses you minutes

All depends what you use the phone for.
Moto v710 can be used as modem for laptop
in a pinch. e815 cannot. Important to me.
v710 camera sucks e815 is much improved.
not important to me.
e815 does EV-DO(video clip extra $ service from Verizon)
v710 does not. Not important to me.
v710 will work with Moto Phone Tools software to sync
contacts, calendar, and backup and restore phonebook.
e815 will not. Important to me.
v710 is my choice. call quality on v710 is the best I ever had.
Just updating this msg, we dont want to mislead E815 users.

Corrections:
E815 Can
1) will work with Moto Phone Tools software to sync
contacts, calendar, and backup and restore phonebook.
(both bluetooth and usb)

2) Moto E815 can be used as modem for laptop

The E815 is the improve version of V710 in all aspect. (In my opinion) just play with it and you will find out.
