MDA Bluetooth Shutoff

For the most part I'm satisfied with the operation of my BT on my MDA. It's not as stable in my e60 as it is in the 3-series cars that I get as loaners and it would be nice if stability were better.
Perhaps a clue is that sometimes when hanging up a call, I press the phone button and sometimes it turns off my BT on the phone.
Anyone know what's going on here?
